ERC Consolidator Grant QNattyNet n. 101169850: “Quantum Native Communication Networks: from Quantum Message to Quantum Functioning”.
QNattyNet envisions a fundamentally new Quantum Internet, built not as an extension of the classical Internet but as a quantum-native entity. Its core paradigm shift moves beyond simply mimicking existing classical network architectures. Instead, it places the distribution and coordinated use of quantum entanglement at the very heart of network design.
To unlock the full potential of quantum mechanics, QNattyNet proposes a dynamic architectural model that exploits “quantumness” not just in transmitted messages, but across all core network functionalities. This quantum-native suite aims to achieve unprecedented scalability, resilience, and forms of communication.
By integrating theoretical research with practical, open-source software development, the project will provide the high-level, hardware-agnostic abstractions needed to transform how information is shared and processed.
